Beethoven Festspielhaus competition >> SHORTLIST OF THREE

In Bonn, an ongoing competition for the new Festpielhaus (German word for “festival hall”). Located along the Rhine River, the Festpielhaus wil be dedicated to Beethoven, who was born in Bonn in 1770 . The shortlist includes only three proposals, from: David Chipperfield Architects, Kadawittfeldararchitektur and Valentiny hyp architects.

The jury arrived to the final shortlist after declining proposals coming from many internationally-based firms such as Zaha Hadid Architects, Snøhetta, UNStudio, GMP Architekten, Arata Isozaki, JAHN and Architekturbüro Karl-heinz Schommer. The three finalist have to take their schemes into a further detail by the end of Deceber and the winner will be declared in 2015, following cost estimation.
